Mrs. Benjamin Knouse
BROWNTOWN, Wis. - Funeral service for Mrs. Benjamin (Carrie) Knouse of rural Browntown, Wis., who died Thursday in Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, Wis., was held Saturday afternoon in Apple Grove Lutheran Church west of Argyle, Wis. The Rev. Lyman Oman, pastor of Argyle Lutheran Church, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Knouse was a member of Apple Grove Lutheran Church. Born March 14, 1888, in Northwood, Iowa, she was the daughter of Simon and Pauline (Jacobson) Hendrickson.
She was married to Benjamin Knouse Nov. 23, 1910, in Argyle Township, Lafayette County, Wis. He died March 23, 1963.
Surviving are three sons, Benjamin Jr. of Rockford, Glenn of Freeport Route 3 and Robert of rural Monroe; five daughters, Mrs. Amos (Carol) Johnson of Rockford, Mrs. Mae Sandley and Mrs. Sherman (Nina) Gundry, both of Freeport, Mrs. Everett (Jane) Buttke of rural Monroe and Mrs. Chester (Berniece) Meade of Appleton, Wis.; 19 grandchildren; and 18 greatgrandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, two infant sons and a brother.
Funeral arrangements were completed by Erickson Funeral Home, Argyle.
