DR. F.E. ASBURY DIES AT PLEASANT GARDEN

Well-Known Asheboro Physician Succumbs After An Illness Of
Pneumonia.

Dr. F.E. Asbury, 78, died yesterday afternoon at the home of J.C. Neely at Pleasant Garden, following an attack of pneumonia.

He was born in Berryville, Virginia. The son of William Asbury and Mary V. Asbury.

Dr. Asbury, a citizen of Asheboro, went to Pleasant Garden on April 5, to attend the conference of the Greensboro district of the Methodist church. While there, he was taken ill. He was taken to the home of Mr. Neely, where he died yesterday.

Dr. Asbury was a confederate veteran and was well-known and popular throughout this section of the country. For many years he engaged in the practice of medicine in Randolph County.

The body will be carried to Asheboro today and funeral services will be held at Asheboro Methodist church sometime Friday morning. Rev. W.H. Willis will conduct the services.

Interment will be in Asheboro Cemetery.

Surviving is his widow, who before her marriage was Miss Flora Richardson; five daughters, Mrs. Leo Barker, Mrs. H.C. Luther, Mrs. A.R. Hix, all of Asheboro; Mrs. L.L. Richardson of Star, and Mrs. Paisley Nelson of Mebane. One son, James Asbury, of Centerview, Johnson County, Missouri, also survives.
