Agnes was the second born child of Frances (Mayer) and John Huff. Her older sister Marie died at the age of 7 of diptheria. She and her brother Leonard were raised by their mother on a farm near Shieldsville, MN with their first cousin Leo Murphy. As his mother (Frances' sister Mayme) was dying, she asked to care for him. Agnes married Harold Frances Cummings and they lived in Minneapolis their entire married life. They had three children: Virginia, Patricia and Michael.
