Carson Earl Swisher and his wife, the former Mary Hazel Crabtree, welcomed an infant son 18 January 1926 in Bethel Missouri. They named him Roger Swisher.

Roger Swisher was a graduate of Bethel high school and University of Missouri at Rolla, where he received a degree in civil engineering. He went on to teach at Bethel high school and then worked for Corps of Engineering.

Roger Swisher served with the U. S. Navy during World War II.

Memberships included National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and Independence Chapter 1164 where he served as president for eight years. Mr. Swisher was treasurer at Blue Ridge Slide Club. He enjoyed photography.

Roger Swisher worshiped at Immanuel Baptist church in Independence Missouri. He also served as usher at the church.

Roger Swisher passed away 5 January 2004 at a Blue Springs Missouri hospital. His wife, Leila Swisher, and two siblings had predeceased him. Funeral was held at Greening-Eagan-Hayes chapel in Shelbyville Missouri, with interment at Bethany cemetery.
