Mary Catharine Blunk, 90, 593 West 275 South, Portland, passed away Thursday evening in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare.

She was born in Portland on September 15, 1920, the daughter of Jacob and Nellie (Shreeve) Platt. She was married July 25, 1948 to Roy E. Blunk and he passed away on March 22, 2011. She had retired from C.T.S. in Berne, was a secretary at the Portland High School and was a Tupperware dealer. She and Roy were woodworking hobbyists. She was a member of the West Walnut Street Church of Christ.

Surviving are three daughters; two sisters; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for both Roy and Mary Catharine will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the West Walnut Street Church of Christ with Pastor Jim Nichols presiding. Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-6 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.
