Mr. Louis Edward Hallett, 80, of Seymour, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012, at his residence.

Born April 4, 1932, in New Marion, IN, he was the son of Alvin H. and Florence (McFatridge) Hallett.

On January 9, 1959, in Furth, Germany, he married Fanni Mackl who preceded him in death September 24, 1973. On April 6, 1974 he married Reba Ellen Caudill, who preceded him February 7, 1997. On May 16, 1998 he married Wanda Darlene Smith Stout Hallett who survives.

Louis retired from the US Army after 21 years of service to his country. He was retired from the City of Seymour and was a member of Central Christian Church. Louis was a member of the American Legion Post 89 where he was the Chaplain for many years. He was also a member of the VFW Post 1925. He was over the military funeral detail which provided a final tribute to many veterans. He was also a volunteer at the Military Museum located at Freeman Field.

Besides his wife, Wanda, he is survived by his children, Karin Roberson, Vickie Conquest, Lori (Jerry) Pearson, stepchildren Sherry (Bob) Lewis, Linda (Arvil) Hammons, Joe (Jenny) Stout, Melissa Stout, grandchildren, Nathan Richart and Emilee (Trevor) Giles, a great granddaughter, Delainey, and sister Nona (Wilbur) Jaynes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Monday, November 12, at 1:30 PM with Rev. Lewis Wright officiating.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
