Patrick Flannigan, 91, a native of Galway, Ireland, died at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon at his home on Route 7 after a long illness.


Mr. Flannigan came to this country at the age of six months and since then has resided in the Sweet Ireland community west of the city. He was engaged in farming and real estate. A member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, Mr. Flannigan had been bedfast eight months. His wife, Mrs. Ida Beatty Flannigan, died in 1949 and a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Lowe, died in 1932.


Surviving are a son, John Flannigan of Route 7; a daughter, Mrs. Nora Allison of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Richard Allison, Mrs. Phil Sheridan, Mrs. Ed Sherman, and Mrs. William Niehause, all of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Arthur Bradley of Route 8; and 24 great-grandchildren.


Funeral rites will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Bartholomew's Catholic church, conducted by the Rev. Joseph V. Somes. Burial will be made at Garland Brook cemetery. Rosary services will be held at 8:30 o'clock Sunday night at Flanigan and Reed funeral home.


Casket will be open at the funeral home after noon Saturday.
