Charles Henry Starrett passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 25, 1998. Chuck was born in Oak Park, Illinois on March 28, 1927 to Fletcher and Elsa Starrett. He graduated from York High School, Villa Park, Illinois, then served in the US Navy at the end of World War II. He graduated from Millikin University, Decatur, Ill. in 1952 with a degree in business.

He was employed by Sunbeam Appliance Service Co. and was transferred to Oklahoma City in 1954. After retiring from Sunbeam in 1982, Chuck worked in real estate for Churchill Brown and spent time as Business Administrator for First Christian Church. In 1988 he joined Ace Transfer and Storage as a sales consultant where he worked until his death. Chuck loved people and sailing. He was a "joiner," active in many organizations, including OKC Boat Club, Young Men's Club, Regency Dance Club, 40/8, YE Tip Club, American Legion, and served as both elder and deacon at First Christian Church. He was also a Shriner and a Mason.

In 1963 Chuck and Ann Trimm were united in marriage in the Jewel Box (theater). They were blessed with two daughters. Chuck was a wonderful, husband and "Poppy." He had a great zest for life and touched the lives of many. He leaves a loving family, his wife, Ann of OKC; his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Greg Dial of Edmond; his daughter, Robin Starrett of OKC; one granddaughter, Amanda Dial of Edmond; a cousin, Robert Starrett and wife, Marion of Williamsburg, VA. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Services are schedule for Monday, March 30 at 11 am at the First Church, OKC, with interment following at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church Scholarship Fund.
