About 1870, Aunt Frances who was married to George Lockett, a young blackman, now both free slaves moved to Houston County with the family to the community of Nevilles Prairie, which is now the Pearson Chapel area.

Aunt Frances became midwife to many of the families on Neveilles Prairie. The first baby she delivered had been Ralph Greenleaf Lundy, he was born in 1867. The photo on this memorial is the birth certificate that she signed for a baby she delivered in 1917. She signed under doctor or midwife.

Known as Aunt Frances, she was loved and revered by all until her death.

Aunt Frances was the informant on her son Walter's death certificate in 1928. She stated her maiden name was Estes and she did not know where she was born.

Shown born June 1844-1845. Census records show Father born in Africa and mother born in Georgia. In the 1900 census it shows her the mother of 3 children with 1 child living in 1900.

Inscription

Aunt Frances' grave is not marked. I feel she is buried next to her husband's grave, that is marked with a stone.
