The names of their children are Hattie (Plooster), Anna (Westra), Edith (Monze), Hans, Margaret (Carter), John, Gertrude (De Raad), Elizabeth (Betty Kuipers) and Albert, who died in 1920 in infancy.

His children lived in 2008 in Platte (South Dakota), California, Denver, Colorado and Oklahoma.
