Helen Catherine Johnson 82, a resident of Beggs, passed from this life on Sunday, March 13, 2011. She was born in Beggs, Oklahoma on February 26, 1929 to Morris and Lula (Jacobs) Payton. She married Ernest Johnson on October 5, 1956. Helen worked for the Department of Human Services until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church South. Her parents, husband and an infant son Tommie Johnson preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons James W. Johnson of Okmulgee, Clayton D. Johnson of Beggs, four daughters Kathleen Wilson of Okmulgee, LouWanda Johnson of Tulsa, Rosalee Holston of Tulsa, Connie S. Thompson of Okmulgee, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Graveside services will be on Friday, March 18, 2010, at the New Bethel Cemetery with Alvin Hunt officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 12-8 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Johnson, James Johnson Theodore Jones, Mark Thompsonn, Jr., Travis Wilson, and Darryle Johnson.∼Occupation: Retired from DHS
