Donald Ray Atteberry, 82, passed away January 13, 2010. He was born December 15, 1927, to Lee & Opal Atteberry in Shidler, OK. Don graduated from Tulsa Univ. as a Petroleum Engineer in 1952. He worked for Midwest Oil Corp. until 1970 and was an independent petroleum engineer for the remainder of his career. Don served on the USS Cayman, a fleet submarine, during WWII.Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lee Jr. He is survived by his wife, Kay Atteberry; five children: Bruce & wife Melody, Candace & husband Keith Graham, Marc, Bryan & wife Betsy, and Jason & wife Katy; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, George & wife Denny; and sister, Linda Clark & husband Berle.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the National Kidney Foundation .
