George was the son of Andrew Jackson Burns and Annie Olivia Anderson.
On 21 Oct 1942 George married Lilious Kathryn Storey. George and Kathryn had the following children: Priscilla Ann, Bobby Lynn, Alice Faye, Allen Ross, and George Ricky.
The obit says that George was pronounced dead Friday afternoon on arrival at West Texas Hospital in a taxi by Justice of the Peace Wayne LeCroy. He ruled the death by natural causes.
The obit goes on to say that George was a native of Dimple. It says that he had resided in Lubbock since 1953. George was a veteran of world War II and was employed by the Lubbock Independent School District in maintenance.
The obit lists the following survivors: his wife; three sons, Bobby, George, and Allen; two daughters, Priscilla and Alice; two brothers, Eddie and Harold; three sisters, Sally Coleman of Annona, Vickie Rodgers and Eurath Babb, both of Clarksville; and 20 grandchildren.
