Charles A. "Sonny" Edgington, 68, of Kittanning, died Friday, April 20, 2007, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Slate Lick, son of the late Charles S. and Mary (Lardin) Edgington. He was an owner and operator in long haul trucking from 1969 to 1990. Then, he was a construction equipment driver with Teamsters Local 341 in Pittsburgh from 1990 until his retirement in 2001. His military service consisted of the U.S. Army Reserve, National Guard Infantry, Engineer Battalion. He was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR racing, especially Tony Stewart. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed traveling all over the country and visiting with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Nita (Crawford) Edgington, whom he married July 25, 1964; sister, Sally Habblett, of Kittanning; nieces, Gretchen (Tim) Blystone and Marcia (Don) Slagle; nephews, C. Joseph Fink Jr. and Bryan (Suzanne) Fink; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Lois Fink and husband, C. Joseph Fink Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half sister, Mildred Smith; brother-in-law, Edward Habblett; and nephew, Charles Habblett. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday. Interment will in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
