Rose Marie Aksamit, formerly of Deweese, died Sunday, October 17, 1993 at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice.
Rosary services were Thursday evening at 7:00 in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Deweese & Mass of the Christian Burial was Friday, Oct. 22 at 10:30 also in the church with the Rev. Father Thomas Au officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Edmund Kucera, Clement Kucera, Irvin Svoboda, Bernard Kucera, Robert Kohmetscher, and Vernon Himmelberg.
Rose was born June 25, 1913 to John and Frances (Lukasek) Kucera. She attended school in the Deweese area and married William Aksamit August 4, 1935 (sic) at Deweese. They farmed south of Deweese. He died March 6, 1977. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Church in Deweese and was past president of the Altar Society and a 4-H leader in the area.
Survivors are two sons Ronald of Eagle River, Alaska and Steven of Deweese; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Aksamit of Bellevue and Virginia Haddix of Beatrice; one daughter-in-law, Betty Aksamit of Buffalo, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 2 brothers Ed of Scappoose, Ted of Red Cloud and a sister Marian Hope of Aurora, Co and a step-sister LaVeta Mazour of Lawrence.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband William, son William Wayne; and a sister Evelyn Phelps.
