Janet C. Lucas, 81, of Columbus, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
She was born June 24, 1927, in Madison, the daughter of Leonard S. and Martha J. Mean Stewart. She was devoted to her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Becky Browne of Columbus and Sherry L. Moir of Houston, Texas; one brother, Del Stewart of Madison; one sister, Avalon Lichlyter of Madison; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lucas, whom she married Feb. 4, 1956. and who died July 24, 2007; one son, Butch Lucas; two daughters, Amber Ford and Debra Joan Lucas; and her parents.
The funeral was at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial was in Garland Brook Cemetery.
