CHATHAM -Mary R. Mellinger, 74, of Chatham died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at St. John's Hospital.
She was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Stanton, Mo. She married Milton Mellinger in 1942; he died in 1969.
Mrs. Mellinger, a homemaker, was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and Eastern Star.
Survivors: companion, Howard E. Eldridge of Chatham; three daughters, Janet G. (husband, Dale) Edwards of Buffalo, Ruth A. (husband, Larry) Woods of Riverton and Barbara K. Eldridge of Springfield; a son, Donald L. Eldridge of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren; a sister, Helen Baker of Missouri; an uncle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Staab Funeral Home, Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial: Chatham Cemetery.
