"PEARL BUCKMAN DIES AT AGE 101
"MAQUON - RoIetta Pearl Buckman, 101, formerly of Maquon, died at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 11, 1998) in Farmington Country Manor, Farmington.

"She was born June 27, 1896, in Knox County, the daughter of Walter and Roletta Stiarwalt Dikeman.

"She married Emery James Buckman on Dec. 24,1916, in Knox County. He died May 6, 1974.

"Surviving are two sons, Clifford J. Buckman, Maquon, and Robert R. Buckman, Canton; three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.

"Her great-grandparents, Jacob and Patsy Grim, were among Knox County's earliest settlers. Her grandparents, Cornelius and Lydia Dikeman, settled in Fulton County in 1836.

"She and her husband farmed the Dikeman farm north of MiddIegrove, retiring in 1957.

"She was of Methodist faith.

"She was a member of Maquon Good Cheer Club and the Knox County Homemakers Extension Association.

"Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home, Farmington, with the Rev. Jeremy Henson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Farmington.

"Memorials may be made to the Maquon Community Development Committee and to the Yates City Community Development Center."
