John was born in Geogia and his father was Rubin Alvin Adams according to death certificate. John married Martha James about 1875 and Martha died in Grayson County after 1896 and before 1900.

John and Martha had the following 5 children:
Malon Henry Adams
William C Adams b. 1883
Alvin Ray S. Adams
Servila Adams
Serlimmer "Lemmer" Adams

John advertised for a mail order bride after Martha died and Arminda Alice "Minnie" Boyd from Blount Albama rode the train to Texas to meet John and she & John were married the very next day in Grayson County.

John and Minnie had 3 children:
