Husband of Marthy "Mattie" Boyd Adams

Malon & Mattie purchased property a stone's throw north of Indian Creek Cemetery shorly after their marriage in 1902. They raised all their children there and lived on same property until their deaths.

Malon's mother Martha James Adams died in Grayson County, Texas, aft 1896 and before 1899 and left her husband John Henry Adams with five children to raise, three older boys and two young girls under 6 years of age. John advertised for a mail order bride and Minnie Boyd, from Bount, Alabama, answered and came to Texas by train to meet John. The next day after Minnie's arrival, John and Minnie were married in 1900.

At that time, Malon Adams was 22 years old and the oldest son of John & and the late Martha James Adams.. So Minnie Boyd Adams wrote her sister, Mattie Boyd back in Alabama and invited her to come to Texas to meet Malon Adams. Mattie Boyd soon arrived by train and Mattie Boyd & Malon Adams were married in 1902.

Sisters Minnie and Mattie Boyd each had life long marriages.
