ELMWOOD -- Nelle M. Burns, 78, of Elmwood died at 8:12 p.m.
Monday, June 29, 1998, at her residence.
Born Feb. 12, 1920, in Elmwood to Jesse R. and LaVada B. Colvin Manock, she married Edwin Burns on March 11, 1939, in East Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jack of East Peoria; one sister, Mary Ellen Lugeanbeal of Laporte, Minn.; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, James and Jerry; three brothers; and two sisters.
She worked in the cafeteria at Elmwood High School for 22 years.
She was a member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Patterson Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Gary Hutton will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church or B.Y.E. Ambulance Service.
