Mr. Mitchell was born in Fleming County on February 18, 1922, son of the late William & Lettie Jolly Mitchell. He was a member of May's Lick Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Oleta C. Fryman Mitchell. 4 children, Donnie Ray (Diana) Mitchell of May's Lick, Thomas Elwood (Anita) Mitchell of Maysville, Barbara (Dale) Mitchell of Lexington, And Gary Wayne (Joyce) Mitchell of Martin, Kentucky. 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren;3 sisters, Catherine Denton of Carlisle, Frances Purcell of Maysville, and Betty Mitchell of Paris. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Mitchell; 4 brothers, Elgin, Edward, Arlie and Richard Mitchell; and a sister, Virginia Cartmill.
Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 17,2012.
Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Brother Tim Lorenz, Brother Gary Wayne Mitchell and Brother Phillip Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
