Donnie R. Mitchell, age 74, of May’s Lick, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, on July 25, 1942, a son of the late Curtis R. and Emma Tucker Mitchell. Donnie was a retired farmer. In his early years, he was a salesman at Cheap Chevrolet and Charlie Holland Chevrolet and, most recently, worked at the Maysville Wal-Mart. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a very active person, loved people and enjoyed his retirement and family.

Survivors include: his wife, Dianna Barnett Mitchell; a daughter, Chastity (Jim Barr) Mitchell; a son, Christopher White; two grandchildren, Austin Moore and Jayden White; the sunshine of his life, Halee Medley; a brother, Gary (Joyce) Mitchell; and two sisters, Debbie Johnson and Barbara (Dale) Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tommy Mitchell.

Memorial services are being planned for a later date. Palmer Funeral Home and Crematory, in May’s Lick, is serving the family.
