Bio and Links
Bio Photo My husband Melvin* and I have been active in our own family genealogies for about 35 years and active in Sumner County, Kansas history and genealogy for almost 30 years. His roots are in the Milan area and mine in the Conway Springs area. We read, recorded and made books for the Milan Cemetery, the Spring Hill Cemetery and the Amish Cemetery in 2000, the Conway Springs Cemetery and the St. Joseph Cemetery in 2002, and the Mulvane Cemetery in 2005. We also enjoy doing lookups from the many transcriptions and databases we have done regarding Sumner County history and families.
I welcome being contacted about any errors found in the records I've posted and I will be happy to transfer ownership of memorials to those who are family members (or closer family members) of the deceased.
*Melvin passed away on April 7, 2009, so I'll be carrying on by myself now. We were married on May 28, 1950.

Hello! I'm looking at the memorial for Amos, specically the cemetery location. Trying to figure out why he is buried in Kansas, when all info I have places his family In Indiana. Any insight?

Young, Shafer and Stinson families
Della, I am trying to help my Step daughter with her tree which is Holman, Young.
Also, I am interested in the Stinson family as my wife has a David M Bartlett who married a Nancy Stinson and she is buried in the Bartlett cemetery in Illinois but unable so far to find David. If her Stinson is the same as yours do you have any info/pictures you would share also on the Young, Shafer family also?

I found Theadore on the census taken on the 9th & 10th of May 1910. Possible is his date of death wrong?

I did see the marriage record no help ther. I also saw a Census record for the year 1850 in Goshen, Tuscarawas, Ohio, USA. I also found another tree that connects your William to Reason Watkins. I do not find any connection to a Joseph or a James in the documents I have found. Not so far at least :)

I have added a copy of the Reason Watkins will to his memorial. I can not explain why other people do not have all of the children listed on their trees. But all of them are listed on his will and on my tree which is of course private. Have a nice day.

Do you have a death certificate for your William? I will check through the census to see if the folks you mention have a head of family with the name you mentioned. I have already found all the other people from Reason's family just looking for his missing William.

Well I do not think you will ever have perfect proof. All hard copy documents are open to interpretation. Do you have any DNA proof of your family line? I have found that a DNA study only costs a few dollars.
