Carr Vista - Helen Juanita Garner Hankins, 72, died Saturday, December 18, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. A Beech Springs native, she was born February 11, 1938 to Wesley Earl and Emiline Wages Hutcheson. She was an Oncology nurse for the North Mississippi Medical Center, where she received several honors such as Oncology Nurse of the Year and Staff Nurse of the Year. She was a member of the Mississippi Nursing Association for nearly 30 years, Al-non Serenity Tupelo, and was a founding member, in 1990, of Camp Bluebird, Cancer Center North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a member of Verona United Methodist Church

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Mr. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband, William D.Bud Hankins of Carr Vista; one daughter, Emily A. Garner of Carr Vista; two sons, Eddie Garner of Carr Vista, and James Emory Garner of Aberdeen; one sister, Evelyn Clark (Bobby) of Plantersville; two half brothers, Wesley Earl Hutcheson, Jr. of Belmont, and Randall Hutcheson of Yazoo City; a Step-mother, Beatrice Hutcheson of Saltillo; one grandchild, Christopher Lane Garner of West Point.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of 49 years, Charles Garner; four brother, Emory Earl Hutcheson, Frances Hutcheson, Leroy Hutcheson and James Hutcheson; three sisters, Ruby Kathrine Lofton, Keron Gattis and Virginia Kennedy.

Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the funeral home.
