Marseilles---Charles A. Brown, 78, of Marseilles RFD 2, died Thursday at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Seals Campbell Chapel, the Rev. Wayne V. Lang, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sample Cemetery in Morris.
Mr. Brown was born in Ottawa, Sept. 30, 1891, to Mr. and Mrs. William Brown. He married Jennie Claypool of Morris in 1914.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Kenneth of Ottawa, Robert of Harding, John of Marseilles; four daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Myrtle) Carpenter of Marseilles, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Dudak of Streator, Mrs. Jack (Rosetta) Baxter of Ottawa and Mrs. Charles (Blanche) Bracketlyson of Hinckley; 40 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers and six sisters.
