Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with the Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Robert was born May 30, 1923, in Morris, to Charles and Jenny (Claypool) Brown. He married Virginia A. Duchala on Oct. 10, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. She died Aug. 27, 1995.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a mechanic for Ottawa White Trucking. He was a member of the American Legion in Bloomington.
He is survived three daughters, Nancy (Randy) Graffis of Carmel, Ind., Liz Carlson of Ottawa and Diana (Frank) Wiley of Oshkosh, Wis.; six sons, Robert James (Donna) Brown of Mokena, Ralph and Richard (Kathy) Brown, both of Wedron, Larry (Janet) Brown of Fairbury, Leonard (Kathy) Brown of Earlville and Donald Brown of Ottawa; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Dudek of Streator and Rosetta (Jack) Baxter of Arizona; and one brother, Kenneth (Anna Mae) Brown of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
