THELMA BAKER YOUNGLOVE COX, age 84, of Coleman died Thursday (February 1, 2001) at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Burkett Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Gary Boyd officiating and assisted by Rev. John Stanislaw. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cox was born March 14, 1916 in Burkett, Texas and was a daughter of James A. Baker and Lillie Cason Baker. She grew up in Burkett and attended school at Rae. In 1936 she married Alton Younglove and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1969; she married Ealey Cox on October 1, 1971 in Aransas Pass, Texas. She lived in Bay City for three years, Aransas Pass from 1947-1985, at which time she moved to Coleman. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ealey Eugene Cox of Coleman; one son, Billy Younglove of Canton, Texas; three daughters, Pat Miley of Willis, Texas, Peggy Baker of Aransas Pass and Janet Wright of Lake Livingston, Texas; one step-son, Rev. Cecil Cox of Brownwood; two step-daughters, Dovie Diann Deahn of Brownwood and Lovella Adams of California; four sisters, Essie Hunter, Madie Burton and Ovella Harris all of Coleman and Ronnie Winslett of Brownwood; seven brothers, J. C. Baker of Lovington, N.M., Tony Baker of Vernon, Texas, Howard Baker of Coleman, Texas, James Baker, Bob Baker and Ed Baker all of Brownwood and Jerry Baker of Odessa; 14 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Davis.

Family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
