Funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Toby Castleberry officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Tony was born on May 24, 1919 in Burkett, Texas. He was the son of the late James A. Baker Sr. and the late Lillie Cason. He married Juanita Williams on November 4, 1941 in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2002. He later married Opal Wilkinson on January 25, 2003 in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2005. He had been a resident of Vernon since 1941. He served in the US Army during WWII as a Combat Medic and received the Medal of Valor. He was a member of the Vernon Masonic Lodge #655, Order of the Eastern Star. He had worked for Dr. Pepper for 20 years before opening the Conoco Station retiring when he was 77. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
