BRANT PIONEER, JOHN PALMER DIES Born 60 Years Ago ON Brant Farm Funeral services for John B. Palmer, a well known and highly respected lifelong resident of Brant township, took place Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Brant Methodist church. Mr. Palmer was born Aug 30, 1880, son of Syrene and Tressa Palmer, on their Brant township homestead. He recieved his education at the Dygert school and later he and his bride, Miss Grace Neff, went to housekeeping on a nearby farm. He continued as a farmer until his health failed him. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, mrs. Beulah Sasenka of Chesaning and mrs. Marion Griffus at home: a sister, Mrs. Cora Turbin of Lansing and a brother, Alfred Palmer of Brant; four grandchildren and a large number of relatives. Rev. H.G. Thurston of the Burton Methodist church officiated. Two favorite hymns were sung by Harvey Crane and John Wilson accompanied by Mrs. Roy McFall. Interment was in Brant cemetery.. Relatives and friends were present, from Lansing, Detroit, Flint, Saginaw, St. Charles and Chesaning. [St. Charles Union Date: Jan 16, 1941 )
