Well-known Chesaning Resident Dies After Year's Illness: Funeral Services Sunday
Mrs. Lila A. Hinkley, 64, resident of this vicinity for more than a half century, passed away at the Bennett Manor Convalescent Home in Saginaw, Thursday morning at 3:30, following a year's illness. She had been at the Home the past three weeks, prior to that had been under treatment at Saginaw General hospital. Death was due to complications.
Mrs. Hinkley was born in Liberty Center, Ohio, May 28, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Cyrenous Palmer. She came to Michigan with her parents when a small child living on a farm in Brant township until her marriage, June 15, 1903 to Albert Webb. The couple made their home on a farm in Lakefield township until Mr. Webb's death in 1924. On Dec. 26, 1933 she was united in marriage to William Hinkley and since that time had lived in Chesaning.
Surviving is her husband, one sister Mrs. Amos Tirban, of Lansing, two brothers, Alfred and John Palmer of Brant township.
Mrs. Hinkley was a member of the Chesaning Rebekah lodge, is a Past Noble Grand of that organization.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the late home and 2 o'clock from the Walter Chapel. The Rebekahs will have charge of services. Interment will be in Brant.
