After Myron's discharge in 1945 they lived in a house near the Winthrop ball park. Myron and Lucille had various jobs in the Winthrop area. In 1952, they moved to Fairfax and Myron hauled livestock. Midland oil from Winthrop bought a bulk fuel station at Fairfax and Myron was offered a job as a driver. In 1963, Myron, Lucille and family moved back to the Winthrop area onto a dairy farm southeast of the city and lived there until 1974. They sold the farm and semi-retired building a new home in Winthrop. In August 1991 they moved to Fairfax. She was diagnosed with Myleofibrosis in early July 1993 and passed away 3 weeks later.
She was survived by her husband, Myron of the Winthrop Good Samaritan Care Center: daughters and sons-in-laws, Sherryl and Duane Petterson of Albert Lea, Sharlene and Robert Ahlers of Gibbon; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Sr., and Mary Berg of Tuckerton, NJ, David and Barb Berg of Tracy; 12 grand children; three great-grandchildren, brother Ray Totman of Spencer, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Dona Totman of Lafayette, Emily Totman of Winthrop; brother-in-law Vern Fredin of Cosmos; Myron's brothers, sister, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Berg of Winthrop, Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Berg of Gaylord, Elaine Berg of Winthrop, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Johnson of Winthrop, Mr. and Mrs. Ruby and Herb Erickson of St. Paul; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by parents; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mabel and Alfred Bunker, Helen and Arthur Halverson, Iva and Fay Lenhart and Esther Fredin; Brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold Totman, Glenn Totman, May Totman.
Funeral services were Friday, July 30 at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery. Rev. Paul Hesterberg and Rev. Gene Hermeier officiated. Casket bearers were John Petterson, Jason Petterson, Dan Ahlers, Chad Ahlers, Paul Ahlers, Rick Ahlers, Michael Berg Jr, and Matt Berg.
