Funeral Rites for Long Time Resident of County Conducted by Rev. Carney
Funeral services for Chas. D. Booton, 76, were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the F. H. McFadden funeral home in Audubon, the Rev. Ira E. Carney, pastor of the Audubon Christian church officiating.
Mr. Booton died Thursday of last week at the Exira hospital. His death followed a long illness.
Born in Illinois
He was born at Bloomington, Ill. April 7, 1861. His boyhood and early youth were spent in Illinois and southeastern Iowa. He came to Audubon county in 1876.
His marriage to Nellie May Angevine took place April 11, 1885. They farmed until 1900, when they moved to Audubon, operating a small hotel here until Mrs. Booton's death in 1925.
Mr. Booton had been confined to his home here for more than a year, with the exception of periods during which he was a hospital patient.
The Survivors
Surviving are three sons, Raymond of Ross, Homer and Leo of Audubon. There are 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. J.T. Baker, Sr. and a brother, W. U. Booton, both of Spirit Lake.

Mrs. Minnie Baker and W. U. Booton are mourning the death of their brother Charles D. Booton of Audubon, who died Friday morning, January 21, at the Exira hospital.
Mr. Booton was taken ill the previous week and on Tuesday he was taken to the hospital for further care. Mrs. Minnie Baker, W. O. Baker, John Baker, Jr., and Mrs. Mildred Droll were at his bedside last week but as he seemed much better they had returned to their homes here.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Audubon. W. U. Booton , W. O. Baker, John Baker, Jr., and Ed Baker attended the funeral from here.
