Early Life: Virginia was born in Magna, Utah, to Alfred Rowe and Josephine Hansen Clinger.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: She married Albert Thornton Birk in American Fork, Utah. They had four children: Richard (Jenelle), Diana Adair (Bill deceased), twins Joyce Jones and Janis Smith (Jerry deceased). Virginia lived most of her adult life in Southern California. She was an accomplished restaurateur for over 42 years. Also, one of the founders of Commonwealth Bank and served on the board of directors of Republic Bank in Gardena, California. She had a keen mind for business. Virginia was highly respected by her business associates and her employees. Among the last few words she spoke in this life were, "I LOVE MY CHILDREN, I LOVE MY CHILDREN," and she did. On September 4, 2014, with her children by her side, precious, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Mary "Virginia" Clinger Birk was called home. She was just shy of her hundredth birthday.
Family Message: "OUR MOTHER WAS AN AMAZING WOMAN!"
Survived By: Her four children, eight grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 13 great, great grandchildren.
