Annie Hecht (1875-1940) was born in Baldwin County, Alabama to Frank J. Hecht (1851-1907) and Katherine Wenzell (1860-1928), an Alabama native of Bavarian immigrant parents. Frank Hecht had been born in Bavaria, Germany and came to Mobile, Alabama circa 1873. He relocated to Baldwin County, Alabama where he ran a nursery before relocating to Biloxi, Mississippi circa 1895 to engage in the oyster industry.

Frank and Katherine W. Hecht reared a large family. among their known children are: Annie Hecht 1875-1941) m. George Draheim (1875-1931); Mary Hecht (1880-1936) m. Joseph Baker Jr. (1881-1910) and Arthur W.C. Blitz (1889-1947); Hattie Hecht (1883) m. Guy Green; Katherine Hecht (1885-1978) m. Warren J. Lang (1884-1977) ; Carrie Hecht (1887) m. Fred Harris; Theresa Hecht (1892) m. J.E. Swetman Jr.; Jessie Hecht (1895) m. Francis J. Meaut; Gracie Hecht (1898) m. Herman Rauste; and Frank J. George was a boatman. They were the parents of the following children: Alma Mary Draheim m. Frentz; Genevieve Draheim; Lloyd Draheim

Mrs. Annie Hecht Draheim, age 65, widow of Capt. Geo. Draheim, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday at her home, 611 Claiborne Street. She was born in Baldwin County, Ala., and resided in Biloxi for 45 years.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. C.L. Frentz, Genevieve and Lloyd Draheim; one grandson, Clarence Frentz Jr., one brother, Frank Hecht, and six sisters, Mrs. Guy Green, Mrs. Warren Lang, Mrs. Fred Harris, Mrs. James Swetman of Biloxi; Mrs. Francis Meaut of New Orleans; Mrs. Grace Raspe of Hollywood, California.

Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m. with requiem high mass at St. Michael's Church at 9 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Harris officiating and Father Mullen assisting. Mrs. Draheim is an aunt of Rev. Harris. Interment will be in Biloxi Cemetery.
