"At his home on Rose street at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Frank Hecht a man well known in this city and the father of a large family, quietly passed to the beyond.
Today his grief stricken wife and children are mourning the loss of a kind husband and father. Frank Hecht was born in Germany fifty-six years ago and came to this country when still a very young man, not over eighteen or twenty years, landing in Mobile. There he lived for a time, afterwards moving to Baldwin county, Ala., where he lived until about twelve years ago when he came to Biloxi and engaged in the oyster business, which business he followed until his last illness which overtook him about six weeks ago. Mr. Hecht, though known to very sick, was thought to be improving and had been up and about the house until about eight days ago when he was again compelled to take to his bed. He leaves besides a wife, four married daughters, Mrs. Guy Green, Mrs. Joseph Baker, Mrs. Warren Lang, and Mrs. George Drahaim and five other children, Carrie, Teressa, Jessie, Gracia and Frank. There is also a sister, Mrs. Alton who lives in Mobile. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from his late residence at 614 Rose street. Father Alphonse Ketels will conduct the services. Mr. Hecht during his residence here had made scores of friends many of whom, since his death yesterday, have visited the home in an effort to bring some comfort to the inconsolable wife and children".
