Betty J. Albin, 87, of Emporia, Kansas, died on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Flint Hills Care Center, Emporia.
Betty was born on July 28, 1926 in Emporia, the daughter of Joseph C. and Lora V. Metcalfe Suddock. She married Wayne E. Albin on April 7, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas. He died on March 13, 2002 in Emporia.
She is survived by a son, Robert Albin of Buffalo, New York; three daughters, Judy Hull, Phyllis Albin, and Patty Albin, all of Emporia; two brothers, Clayton Suddock and Donald Suddock, both of Emporia; two sisters, Helen Suddock and Dorothy Bryant-Edgar, both of Emporia; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph Suddock, Jr. and Robert Suddock; and a sister, Beryl Jean Hinson.
Betty was a homemaker, as well as a daycare provider. She was a member of Hope Community Church in Emporia, where she also ran the nursery for many years.
Cremation is planned, with a memorial service at a later date. A memorial has been established to Emporia Friends of the Zoo; contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
