Alfred G. Boldt, 84, passed away Friday, July 8th, at 11:55 p.m. in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, in Cherokee following a brief illness. His home was at 708 Rock Island. He had been a resident of Cherokee the past 15 years, prior to this he lived in the Larrabee and Calumet areas. He was born February 27, 1904, in Calumet, Iowa.
He was married to Geraldine Nitz on June 1, 1932, at rural Larrabee, Iowa. His family operated E. Boldt & Sons garage in Calumet. He later owned and operated the Mobil Gas arid Bulk Plant in Calumet. He later moved to a farm near Larrabee, where he farmed until his retirement in 1973.
He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ at Calumet, and was active on various church boards, was a former President of the Larrabee School Board, former President of the Larrabee Co-Op Elevator, was an avid bowler for many years, played in the Calumet Band for many years, and had also worked for the A.S.C.S. office.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; one son, Benjamin J. Boldt of Tomball, Texas and one daughter, Mrs. Nile (Lorraine) Buch of Ponca, Nebraska; also 6 grandchildren and 2 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Arnold; and one sister, Irene Boldt.
