He was married to Geraldine Nitz on June 1, 1932, at rural Larrabee, Iowa. His family operated E. Boldt & Sons garage in Calumet. He later owned and operated the Mobil Gas arid Bulk Plant in Calumet. He later moved to a farm near Larrabee, where he farmed until his retirement in 1973.
He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ at Calumet, and was active on various church boards, was a former President of the Larrabee School Board, former President of the Larrabee Co-Op Elevator, was an avid bowler for many years, played in the Calumet Band for many years, and had also worked for the A.S.C.S. office.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; one son, Benjamin J. Boldt of Tomball, Texas and one daughter, Mrs. Nile (Lorraine) Buch of Ponca, Nebraska; also 6 grandchildren and 2 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Arnold; and one sister, Irene Boldt.
