Veteran of World War II. Served in the United States Army. Retired from the White Sands Missile Range. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Estelle Phelps. They were married on July 16, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas. Also preceded by his parents, Carl and Beulah Mather Duncan; and brothers, Leonard, Lloyd and Robert Gayle Duncan. Linuel was a twin, born on Christmas Eve of 1922. He and his brother Leonard were very close and grew up in the country in Long Cove, Texas. The twins both played baseball and went to State Championships with their school team for Long Cove School, and won State.

He loved to hunt and fish, and then also to play golf in later years. Linuel was a devoted family man, to his mother, brothers, wife and children. He and wife, Dorothy had 4 children: Carol, Carl, Richard, and Diane.
