Joseph L. Breighner, of McSherrystown, departed this life August 20 in Gettysburg.

He was the son of the late Lewis and Margaret (Kuhn) Breighner.

Mr. Breighner was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was retired from Utz Potato Chip Company in Hanover and was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown, the Hanover Knights of Columbus Council 871, and was a fourth degree Knight of the Father Cyril J. Allwein Assembly.

He was the husband of Caroline A. (Redding) Breighner for 50 years and surviving, in addition to her, are two brothers, Lewis R. Breighner of Hanover and Bernard A. Breighner of Littlestown; five sisters, Loretta McMaster of Abbottstown, Mary Debelius from Georgia, Marian Paszek from Maryland, and Anna Kopp and Marie Dresher, both of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, James and Patrick Breighner.

Interment, with full military honors, was provided by the Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
