W.A. Bryson dies at his home Thursday -- has been resident of Shelton more than 28 years.

W.A. Bryson, 81, a highly esteemed citizen of Shelton for more than 28 years, died at his home here last Thursday evening at 7:15 o'clock, following an illness of several weeks. He has been in failing health for a number of years, but it was not until recently that his condition became critical. William Andrew Bryson, son of John Bryson and Elizabeth Dick, was born at Clintonville, Illinois, January 24, 1856, and at the time of death, had reached the age of 81 years, 9 months and 17 days. When he was fours years of age his parents moved from Illinois to Page County, Iowa where he grew to manhood. He was married December 15, 1886 to Venia Jane Murray at Villisca, Iowa. They resided on a homestead in Furnas County, Nebraska until 1905, and in March of that year moved to Gibbon and built a nice home at the south edge of town. They lived at that place about four years and in 1909 moved to Shelton. They have made their home here the past twenty-eight years.

Mr. Bryson was converted and baptized in the Baptist Church at Gibbon in February, 1891, and remained in that faith until death. He was a main of quiet disposition, a loving husband, and a good neighbor. His main interest in his last years was his home. Both Mrs. and Mrs. Bryson loved flowers and for many years their home and yard have been one of the beauty spots in Shelton.

He is survived by his bereaved wife, also a number of relatives and a host of friends. He was the last member of the Bryson family, the others having preceded him to the great beyond.
