DEATH OF J. H. COLE
James H. Cole, 79, a well known early settler in this community, passed away at the county hospital, Monroe, Saturday, Nov. 13th. He had been in failing health for several years, but his last illness was of only about 10 days' duration. Mr. Cole was born in Missouri March 22, 1858 and would have been 80 years old had he lived until his next birthday. He had been a resident of this community for 47 years, residing on a farm at Cicero for many years and later moving to Arlington. He is survived by two sons, John M. Cole of Arlington and William Cole of Centralia, two daughters, Mrs. Levada Earnheart of Sultan and Mrs. Emma Howell of Bremerton; one brother, Robert Cole of Yakima, fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grand children. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p. m. from the local Congregational church with Rev. Hillis of the Marysville Baptist church, officiating. Burial was in the Arlington cemetery beside the remains of his wife, Eliza Cole, who passed away October 19, 1930. In the death of Mr. Cole the community loses one of its well known and respected pioneer citizens.
