Gerald "Jerry" Sherman Baugh, Sr., of Friend, died November 19, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer at his home in Friend at the age of 71 years and 9 days. Jerry, as he was lovingly know by family and friends, later graduated from Grand Meadow, Minnesota high school with the Class of 1951. On March 3, 1956, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Kempfert in Ely, Minnesosta. Jerry always said he had eleven children, including "not me", David, Teresa, Karen, Joseph, Dawn, Rebecca, Pamela, Billy, Gerald Jr, and Jacalyn. . After retiring at the age or 59, because of his health, Jerry looked forward to driving for Milton Brothers each fall during the harvest season. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friend, where he was proud to serve as an acolyte. He also enjoyed mowing the church and rectory lawns.
