Mrs. Ida B. Robertson, wife of the late L. N. Robertson, was the daughter of J. S. and Luvenia Wall Vanover and was born May 16, 1862. She died at her home at 400 23rd street, Thursday morning, December 1, 1932. She was married to L. N. Robertson on February 16, 1882. To this union there was given seven children, two sons and five daughters, all of whom were spared until they were grown up and married. One daughter, Mrs. N. H. Anderson died in 1919. She was followed by her father January 24, 1924.
Mrs. Robertson is survived by the following children: Dr. O. C. Robertson, Owensboro, Ky.; G. N. Robertson, of Morris, Ill.; Mrs. Dave Taylor, of Owensboro, Ky.; Mrs. F. X. Bumpus, Rockport, Ind.; Mrs. C. H. Williams, Hopkinsville; Mrs. L. M. Herring, of Auburndale, Fla. By two brothers, Mr. G. W. Vanover, Owensboro and Alvey Vanover of Panther; one sister, Mrs. C. G. Fitts, Calhoun; eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a host of close friends and loved ones.
She was converted at the early age of thirteen and united with the Brushy Fork Baptist church. On moving to Owensboro in 1909 she united with the Third Baptist church, and has since lived a loyal, consistent, faithful Christian life.
Mrs. Robertson has in a measure been a mother of three families; her mother died when she was only sixteen years of age. She assumed the responsibility and did it well; she gave birth to seven and reared them all to be grown; when her daughter, Mrs. Anderson, died in 1919 and left an infant son. She accepted the responsibility of this child and mothered him until he died. She nursed an invalid mother two years, her daughter for four months and her husband through one year of illness.
