Andrew Jackson Barrow was born March 1, 1852, the son of James Barrow and Catharine David Cryder Barrow. He married Nancy A. Musgrave (September 24, 1855-February 10, 1881) on August 29, 1872, and they had four children:

1) Alpha A. Barrow, born August 28, 1873, died 1873

2) James William Barrow, Rev. Dr., born August 6, 1874, in Carbondale, Illinois. He married Lucy Mary Patten on June 12, 1901, in Campbell Hill, Illinois. He died December 20, 1961, in Carbondale, and was buried in Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale.

3) John Vincent Barrow, born September 13, 1877, in Jackson County, Illinois. Me married Delores Machado in December of 1902, in Los Angeles, California. He died December 17, 1958, in Los Angeles.

4) Lucy Miriam Barrow, born June 6, 1880, in Jackson County, Illinois. She died in 1880.

After Nancy's death, Andrew Jackson Barrow married Mary Loving Merrill, on September 1, 1885, at Shiloh Hill, Randolph County, Illinois. They had three children:

5) Nettie A. Barrow, born July 1, 1886, in Campbell Hill, Illinois. She died in 1956.

6) Laura Pettis Barrow, born December 16, 1887, in Campbell Hill; She married Norman McIntyre on August 15, 1909. She died August, 1969, in Edmonds, Snohomish County, Washington.

7) Stella R. Barrow, born September, 1894, in Campbell Hill. She married Will L. Lingle in 1917, in Illinois. She died sometime after April, 1930, in Campbell Hill.

Andrew Jackson Barrow died March 31, 1921, in Campbell Hill and was buried in the Calvary Cemetery there.

From a book about Rev. Gordon comes the following:
"The son of James and Catherine D. Barrow, was born in Jackson county, Ill., March 1st, 1852. His youth was spent upon his father's farm, a part of which he now resides upon. Attended the district school; married Nancy A. Musgrave August 29th, 1872; joined the United Baptist Church April 1876; was married again to Miss Mary L. Merrell September 1st, 1885; united with the Free Baptist Church at Campbell Hill January, 1889, and was elected on the Board of Deacons in June 1890, and still resides on his farm near Campbell Hill, Ill."

According to a newspaper report that appeared on September 13, 1907, Andrew Jackson Barrow won second place for his Irish Potatoes at the Campbell Hill Camp fair. His wife won first place for her butter. Andrew Jackson was called A.J. or Uncle Jack when he was older.
