Mary E. Adams, 94, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 1995 at The Fairways at Brookline Village, State College.

She was born April 21, 1900, in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Milton and Nannie Omwake Benedict. On Feb. 12, 1921 she married Chester E. Adams, who died May 1, 1983.

Before 1977, she lived in Waynesboro, and from 1977 to 1987, she lived at the Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy. She has resided at The Fairways since 1987.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Adams was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro; an officer and member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Waynesboro; board member of the Waynesboro Hospital; board member of the United Methodist Home for Children, Mechanicsburg; member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Mt. Vernon chapter and Past Matron, Waynesboro; member of the Renfrew Museum and Institute of Cultural and Environmental Studies, Waynesboro; the Waynesboro Historical Society; the Nittany Lion Club of Penn State; the Penn State Club of Franklin County; and the Waynesboro County Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth A. Funk and Martha A. Adams, both of State College; and two grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the church, with the Rev. Roger K. Mentzer. Burial will be at the Green Hill Cemetery.
