JANESVILLE - Gladys V. Andreski, age 90, of 460 Bostwick Ave., died Fri. morning, May 28, 1999, at Mercy Health System following a short illness. Gladys was born in Johnstown on Feb. 16, 1909, the daughter of Charles H. and Elsie (Featherston) Burhans. She graduated from Milton Union High School in 1926. After graduating, she was employed as a telephone operator. On Dec. 3, 1930, Gladys married Alex E. Andreski in Milton. Mrs. Andreski was formerly employed by the Parker Pen Co. and the Lewis and Arthur Insurance Agency. Mr. and Mrs. Andreski built the Lannon Stone Motel in 1948 and operated it for several years. Gladys was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church, where she helped organize the Senior Citizen's Group of the church. She was a member of the Cedar Crest Auxiliary and was an active volunteer at Cedar Crest for many years, continuing this until her recent illness. She served as co-chairperson of the 368th Engineers Regiment reunions. Mrs. Andreski helped organize the Janesville Fire Department Auxiliary and served as its first president. She was a member of Women of the Moose #477 and was active in the Walkers and Talkers Group. A favorite pastime was doing family genealogy.

Survivors include her husband, Alex E. Andreski of Janesville; a sister, Eva Gilbert of Evansville; 3 brothers: James (Dorothy) Burhans of Ft. Myers, FL, and Edwin (Ruth) Burhans and Howard (Fran) Burhans, both of Janesville; a sister-in-law, Regina Marmes of Schaumburg, IL; 2 brothers-in-law, John Andreski of Milwaukee and Louie Nevinski of West Allis; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wed., June 2, 1999, at Cargill United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert Hays and Rev. Jay Smoke officiating. Interment will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
