A life long Des Moines resident. Mr. Kappelman was a graduate of North High School. He was a truck driver for Commerical Terminal Services and a member of Local 147 of the Teamsters Union. He attended Epworth Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen ; a son, Robert of Des Moines, a daughter, Mrs. Joanne Walsh of Des Moines, two sisters, Hazel Liming of Des Moines and Dolly La Mar of Fort Dodge, a brother Wesley of Des Moines, and four grandchildren.
