She was born March 17, 1931, to Walter and Mary Violet (Sweeney) Stone in Avondale.

She married Thomas Keith Boyd in 1949.
She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Keith Jr. and Sharon Boyd of Kansas City and John and Marj Boyd of Topeka; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Taylor of Kansas City; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mary Phelps of Kansas City, Ruby Phelps of Mesa AZ, and Ruth Tomlinson of Belton; and brother, Charles Edward Stone of Wheatland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Keith Boyd, 2 sisters, Myrtle Roehrig and Helen Hackman, and 3 brothers, Kenneth, Lloyd and Jackie Stone.

Dorothy worked for Sears until her retirement.
She was a member of Antioch Bible Baptist Church.
