"Walter Cleveland Stone, 72, formerly of North Kansas City, died of a heart attack Saturday at his home in Rich Hill, Mo. He was born in Tracy in Platte County. He was a miller and was employed 28 years by the old Midland Milling company before he retired about 20 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist church in Papinsville, Mo. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myra Stone of the home; a son, Charles E. Stone of 5325 N. Kensington; six daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Parkville, Mrs. Helen Hackman of Glasgow, Mo., Mrs. Mary Phelps of North Kansas City, Mrs. Ruby Phelps of 6303 N. Broadway, Mrs. Ruth Tomlinson of Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Dorothy Boyd of Topeka; and 21 grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Newcomer chapel in North Kansas City; burial in White Chapel cemetery." The Kansas City Times, April 6, 1964
